We are now offering medically managed weight loss with our Nurse Practitioner. Our program includes weekly coaching by our Nurse Practitioner and medication if needed. Our Nurse Practitioner has extensive training in obesity management and is passionate about helping patients reach their weight and health goals. Your program starts with an initial consult to determine what medication best fits your needs and instruction on lifestyle changes customized to you.
Some popular medications include:
Semaglutide, brand name Wegovy, Ozempic or Rybelsus. Semaglutide is a once weekly injection, under the name of Ozempic approved for Type II Diabetes. It works on the GLP-1 pathway to help regulate blood sugar and as a side effect also decreases appetite.
Common Side effects include, tiredness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation. Some side effects lessen as you continue to use semaglutide.
Tirzepatide, brand name Mounjaro, is a once weekly injection used to treat Type II Diabetes, shown to have substantial weight loss. Tirzepatide works on the GIP and GLP-1 pathways to help regulate sugar, but also decreasing appetite and gastric emptying time.
Common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, indigestion and stomach pain.
Liraglutide, brand name Victoza, Saxenda is a medication used for Type II Diabetes and approved for weight management. Liraglutide has been shown to be effective in weight loss and maintenance, with a low side effect profile and few contraindications.
Common Side effect include: nausea, diarrhea, constipation, vomiting, headache and stomach pain.
Bella Light, is a unique combination of bupropion, naltrexone, B12 and phentermine. It helps with weight loss by decreasing cravings and appetite. For those patients with contraindications to other medications or do not want an injection have the option of Bella Light.
Common Sided effects include, headache, nausea, vivid dreams and dizziness.
